FPV POWER BATTERY METER 10/10
I have hooked this battery meter up on my kayak so I know exactly what the health status is of my FPV Power Lithium 50ah Kayak battery. The amp draw can be viewed as can the state of charge as a percentage and you can also set the meter to count down from your battery’s full amp capacity. Another excellent product from FPV Power. Make sure you order 2 sets of 60amp waterproof connectors at the same time so you have a system that is plug and play and portable, not just fitted in your kayak but can be used in items such as your camper trailer to keep an eye on your battery health or connected up to your deep cycle battery running a fridge in your car or boat. Plenty of places you can use this battery meter in.
FPV-POWER Waterproof Battery Meter
Nine fishing trips already with this device and very happy with it. It’s wired between my FPV 50ah LiPo battery and a 40 pound thrust Minn Kota electric motor which is the main propulsion device on my Saranac 146 canoe, used in estuarine water in the Noosa area. Before installing this battery meter I could only guess at the remaining battery charge available to me, and was always concerned that I may have travelled too far from my launch point to get back. Now, especially having recorded all trip details, I’m confident I can travel much further away to fishing areas and still get back without resorting to paddling. The device is quite bulky but I found a great place to mount it (using velcro type fastener) — on the upper surface of the aluminium bar which functions as my MK transom, as seen in the photo. I’ve found that it’s necessary to RESET the percentage to 100% at the start of each trip. This is easily done by connecting the device to the (recharged) battery and then pressing and holding the % button, on the right, until 100% displays. An excellent product, so far, noting that I’ve been using it for just a bit over one month. Happy to field questions about it.
