Thanks team. As always, your service was fast and friendly and the Railblaza gear never disappoints. I have a huge amount of their product and on the rare occasion I’ve had a minor issue, Railblaza have gone above and beyond to help. Given the amount of time my gear spends on the water in tough conditions, this stuff massively outperforms my expectations.

This is by far the best rod holder I have used over many years. Fits all reel variations and has the ability to lock the rods in place if needed.. Very easy to adjust to any angle and move to various ports set up around your kayak or boat.

Great device works in every direction

I own a lot of Railblaza gear, purely because their range seems to cover nearly every functional requirement I have on my kayak. Some of the quickset holders are a little faster to access, but I like the secure hold provided by the latch on these holders. Some of my most solid strikes from big fish have occurred while the rod is in the holder and I'm reaching for a water bottle, rigging another rod or just generally zoning out. When those big hits happen, it's nice to have the security of a sturdy holder to ensure your rod doesn't leap over the side of your kayak. If you add the angled rod holder extender, you can achieve the perfect rod position for rigging, lazily bottom-bouncing or trolling. I am out every weekend and usually have a full day on the water, so my gear is punished. My yaks are also loaned to beginners or people wanting to test my gear, so I need to know my equipment will meet my expectations, while also making the experience more enjoyable for my tag-alongs. The rod holder itself appears nearly unbreakable, although I've had a couple of the sliding latches fail on the Starport base. Spares are available at a low price and I cannot think of another rod holder which would have survived as long as these. For a few dollars, new latches were on my Starports and they were like new again. Maintenance is as simple as a quick hose-down after hitting the water, mostly just to loosen up any deposits which may sneak into the locking mechanisms and tighten up the fit. After many hours of punishment, a little squirt of silicone helps everything move a little easier and reduce friction when removing the holder from the Starport. Don't use any petroleum based lubricants on your Railblaza gear, or anywhere near your precious kayak. Nothing is perfect, but these rod holders come very close!
